Since Hotel Booking version 4.10.0, it is possible to link the accommodations (units) of any accommodation type with each other - when 1 accommodation is booked, another accommodation(s) is blocked automatically. This may be helpful when you rent out the same property as an entire House/Apartment and as separate rooms of the same House/Apartment, etc.
You can watch the video or read the instructions below
Follow the easy steps to set it up:
1. You need to create separate Accommodation Types for the House and each Room that can be booked on your site. By creating an Accommodation Type, you get 1 Accommodation (unit) created automatically. It defines the availability of the Accommodation Type.
2. To link the properties you will need to go to Accommodation > Accommodations and edit them one by one selecting the related units to block the edited accommodation when the related one is booked.
For example, you need to edit the unit of the House and put a checkbox next to each Room to automatically block the House when any of the selected Rooms are booked.
3. Then edit each Room accommodation (Room 1, Room 2, Room 3) and put a checkbox next to House accommodation to block this Room when the House is booked.
That's it. Now when the House is booked on specific dates, the Rooms will be blocked on the same dates automatically without any delays. And vice versa, when any of the Rooms are reserved on other dates the House will be blocked and can not be booked on the same dates anymore, while the other 2 Rooms are still available for reservation.
Here is an example of how the backend calendar looks when all the rooms are booked on different periods with overlapping dates and the House is blocked on those dates.
Export of blocks
If you export bookings to external OTA platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, etc. to sync calendars across different platforms, you will need to enable the option 'Export admin blocks.' at Accommodation > Settings. Thus the blocked dates (pink colored on screenshot above) will be imported by Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, etc.
