This confirmation mode can be useful for hosts who want to automate the booking verification process but do not want to use online payments.
Learn how to set this type of booking confirmation and how it works by reading the steps below:
- To enable the confirmation mode by the customer via email, you need to go to Accommodation > Settings, select a proper option, and save the changes.
- You need to select a Booking Confirmed page which includes the shortcode [mphb_booking_confirmation]
If you use a block editor then it should be a Booking Confirmation block, for Elementor - Booking Confirmation widget, and for Divi Hb. Booking Confirmation module.
The guest can view the page by following the booking confirmation link or by clicking on the View Booking link in the email notification after the booking is confirmed. - You also need to set an Approval time for the customer to confirm the reservation. By default, the guest has 20 minutes to check the inbox and follow the confirmation link in the email notification to confirm the reservation.
Now the Booking flow will work in the following way:
- guest searches for available accommodation for the needed dates or checks the availability of a specific property on your site;
- guest proceeds to the checkout page, fills in the information, and makes a reservation
- guest receives an email notification about the created booking. The notification includes a booking confirmation link. The booking has the status 'Pending User' which blocks the availability of accommodation on the booked dates according to the Approval Time option (20 minutes by default).
The Email Template of this notification can be edited at Accommodation > Settings > Customer Emails - New Booking Email (Confirmation by User) - If the guest does not follow the link in a set time, the status of the booking is changed to 'Abandoned' and dates become free again.
- If the guest follows the link in a set time, the booking is confirmed and he is redirected to the Booking Confirmed page where he can see the Booking Details. Additionally, the guest receives a notification about an approved booking
The Email Templates of the notifications can be edited at Accommodation > Settings > Customer Emails - Approved Booking Email - owner gets an email notification about a new booking

By default, the guest can pay for the stay on arrival or in any other way without using the Hotel Booking plugin.
You may also charge the guest before arrival via the payment link by using the Payment Request addon. It allows using the inbuilt payment methods and deposit settings to charge the full or deposit amount.
